This is most commonly said by actual incels, as a tactic they use to make their numbers larger, by basically saying “hey, all these non-misogynistic virgins on Reddit are also incels, they just don’t know it yet!” Words have a lot of context, just because incel is an abbreviation for involuntary celibate, doesn’t mean the word doesn’t have additional meaning beyond the abbreviation. An incel is not merely an involuntary celibate, it is an involuntary celibate that hates women and believes they are owed a relationship.
