(Serious) Tell your rags to riches stories?

Grandfather started his life as a farmer. Moved to Karachi after partition and went to school there. Got a job and became known as one of the smartest guys in the office. Was selected by Ayub Khan's government to receive a scholarship to an American school for his masters. Came back and headed a major Pakistani government institution's Karachi office. Also the first car owner in his whole block.

My dad and his brothers are all brilliant as well, my dad's family has a net worth somewhere between $50m-$100m USD (or perhaps more.... I haven't done the math in a few years) built off of 100-200k rupees their father gave each of them in the 60s and 70s. My wealthiest uncle has given interviews to major Pakistani newspapers and anyone living in Pakistan who is wealthy enough to be on Reddit has almost 100% used a product manufactured by one of his factories.

Also anyone reading this from Karachi has almost 100% attended a wedding at one of my dad's Shaadi halls :)

My family in it's current generation is very materialistic because the wealth is relatively recent. I was wearing a $100 watch from timex and got roasted by my uncle for it.
