I only saw concept art of one of the dragons until today, and I specifically didn't mention it in this post because I thought it looked fine.

No, you aren't understanding this correctly. I think that Matt should make the ancient dragon look more like the adult dragon, and the wyrmling look a little bit more like the young dragon. I also would like if they coincided with the other dragons better when it comes to alignment.

Saying that I want him to "utterly abandon" his idea of what they are is blowing it wildly out of proportion. I specifically said that I don't expect everything that I dislike about them to be changed.

I'm paying Matt to have gem dragons in the book, and I'm giving him my feedback on what I think they should look like. I'm a really small part of the people doing that, and I expect my feedback to be weighed accordingly, but that doesn't mean I can't give it at all.
