Depending on their age and the inforamtion they have put out online (willing or unwilling), it's all public inforamtion in one way or another. Sites such as https://www.whitepages.com/ exist. You could probably search for yourself and find some scary stuff. It's a nice lesson to start taking control over your privacy.

But, with that said, simply having a name probably won't help. hundreads of people share the same name in the smallest of areas and you can't search by birthdate. So, you either need much more inforamtion, or simply let it go. Friends always come and go. You will be lucky if you have one friend who stays with you throughout life.
