There are "bots" that fully automate the process even on PS4 (via Remote Play). They do contract renewals, scout opening, SIM games ofc, maanger contract rewnewal, team switching before games and so on. They play with white ball team, so even losing can be profitable. Imagine playing 150+ games per day.

Some people that don't have the knowledge to use one (or can't find one), connect to their PC via remote administration software and control Remote Play that way.

If you check the SIM rating on PS4 sorting by number of games, you'll see many players with more than 4k games (some even with around 12k games). They use bots (unless they're mentally ill and sit in front of the screen to play those).
