Vampires. My universe is a sci-fi universe but i couldnt help myself but add vampires in it. But mine are way different, vampirism is some kind of virus. Its only transmited by blood. After getting infected, you will have 24 hours until you die and resurrect as vampire. Virus attacks your brain causing you to have suicidal thoughts so that you can transform into a vampire, but as a way to survive it also attacks heart so you will die in 24 hours no matter what. Only way around it? Full blood transfusion or just removal of heart. When your heart is removed you will die but you wont turn.

The rest is your typical vampire, they are stronger than average human, they feed on human blood, they heal fast, they are faster but nothing supernatural. Only way of killing them after transition is decapitation. You dont age too.

Its seems like so amazing to turn right? But its actually not, because when you turn, you are actually not you. Your personality will be altered and you wont be your self anymore. You will only serve for your hunger. You will occasionally get urge to turn others but you dont have to do it.
