The problem I have with the dub is the fact that they’re limited in what they can say because they’re essentially translating complicated Japanese sentences and expressions into English and trying to fit the translations into the frames where a character is animated to be talking. Their dialogue is very restrictive.

I would imagine that morale amongst the English language voice actors would be low because they are basically glorified translators. The moments where the dub has been bigger than the sub have usually been moments when they’ve deviated from the source material, like the line “The world beyond the Wall is my birthright!”
