I was left feeling frustrated about the ambiguity of whether vampires still exist. I understand having lingering doubt over whether they are still out there in distant lands, or if their scientific tinkering affected things (kind of like how Dylan burned in the sun or that orange stuff) but they literally were still wondering if it was only the vamps that were created by The Dark One’s power blast who turned back. They can have a press conference, go to the park, give Axl a medal but no one can go a few yards outside the wall and say ‘hey guys, the other day, did you see a whole bunch of vampires drop to the ground and turn human?’.

If I didn’t know how much this show struggled, I’d think they were trying to give Ivory a spin off. If that ambiguity was to leave the door open for a spin off that is NOT going to happen, that sucks.
