The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church was the only house of worship destroyed on 9/11. 16 years later, construction is almost done on this beautiful building. We don't need a mosque at ground zero, we need a church back!

Ah you are bringing up the conflict between the Pharisees and the Saducees.

Jesus was a Jew and brought that with Him. His life and the birth of Christianity was a minor incident to the Romans and to the Jews. What He did was bring the word of God to people who were not ethnically Hebrews. Meaning, the whole world, except for the Jews, or Hebrews. The Hebrews already had the word of God and are in another category.

The Pharisees organized a Judaism that could work without the Second Temple. The Saducees couldn't see beyond the building. The Pharisees organized a Temple made of words. They brought it to the common man. The Saducees had become elitists. They are gone, gone. Today's Jews are Pharisaic Jews.

Christ's death must not be viewed as a mugging that could have been prevented if people had been nicer, or if the Jews had been nicer. And should have been prevented. No, Christ's death was a mystical event that was necessary for the salvation of the Christians. Meaning, everybody, except the Jews.

I am no theologian, but to me, a Christian resents the Jews for not stopping Christ's death, is sort of being impious. To me that is a path to rejecting the salvific event of Christ's death. Wishing it hadn't happened. That is rejecting salvation. Doesn't make sense, or not to me. But I am no expert.

So the role of the Jews was to bring up and teach the young Christ, but beyond that, He left them behind because He had something else to do, other people to reach.

The people who annoyed him were the Saducees, I think.
