Street Cop Training vs My Police Department

So, it sounds like part of your gripe is that work colleagues don’t utilize tactics they learned in SCT but use tactics that your department employees. And you feel the tactics taught buy SCT are better than the ones your department currently uses… Is that correct? I’m just trying to make sure understand. So, I should disclose, I am not a police officer. I am in the process of trying to become one and I’ve been trying to do everything I could to make myself a better candidate and a better future officer. I looked in to SCT and it looks like they had a lot of useful stuff and I was going to try to see if I could get into some of their programs but I was advised by a friend who is a police officer to let the department that hired me train me and do things the way they do them. He told me if I had any major issues with the way things were done to follow chain of command. Hope that helps. On the other hand I may not know what the fuck I’m talking about. I think your desire to be the best you can be is awesome but, make sure you’re not making any enemies along the way. That is exactly how I lost my last job.
