The struggle for identity in Greece mirrors that of Ireland [x-post Identitarians]

Typical of an Albanian to try and disparage Greeks

f you don't know history, don't talk like you do, you're obviously historically illiterate Greece was conquered by the Romans, yet was a affluent province, after this, The Eastern Roman empire which is often referred to as a "Greek Empire" or "Imperium Graecorum" reigned for more than 1000 years https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byzantine_Empire As the Byzantine Empire declined, and the borders shrunk mainly encompassing the Greek world (Anatolia, and what is today modern Greece) There was even a resurgence of the "Greek identity" especially under the Palaiologos dynasty https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byzantine_Empire_under_the_Palaiologos_dynasty The Empire would fall to the Ottomans, and Greeks would be ruled by the Ottomans for 400 years, It's important to understand how Ottoman society was structured though, Populations were separated into millets, and if intermarriage happened, the Christians(Greeks) would have to convert to Islam and with that would become Turks. This is why many Turks historically and even today have what would be considered Greek ancestry, as they are primarily decedent from native Anatolians, Greeks included, even some Sultans like Murad IV, had Greek mothers. This is why if you look at the two populations there are Greek lineages present in Turkish populations yet not vice versa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_history_of_the_Turkish_people Turks as much as we hate to admit were a rather tolerant bunch, they did allow us to practice our religion, speak our language, and maintain our identity, they were far from perfect, but angels compared to what other European powers did to those they conquered, especially in places like South America I don't know where you are getting this idea that Greeks are of middle eastern descent, Turks themselves are largely not of middle eastern decent, do you have any studies to back this claim up, or are you just spouting nonsense, if you are under the impression that Ancient Greeks were Tall, blond, Nordic supermen, I have bad news for you. I'm in no way saying Greeks are 100% pure blood decedents of ancient Greeks, that's just absurd, we have had outside influence, from Avranites, Aromanians(Vlachs), some negligible others, but Greeks are primarily decedent from Greek speaking Romans. But I don't know where you get Middle eastern from
