1. Coughing over one another.
2. Often homeless and therefore probably not having decent access to cleaning opportunities all day.
3. Because they literally gather at the mouths of public transit systems and underground in public transit systems when it's cold and rainy.
4. Because all of them are very "at risk" people and likely to have compromised or lower immune systems.
5. Because not fucking once has any of them bothered to pull themselves away from their Monday mourning booze to let anyone pass.
