I have a few questions that i have not been able to find the answers to as of yet. Please if you could point me in the right direction. I have never 'hacked' a console before so i wanted to go for the laziest of solutions: buy a dongle. As I have come to understand you need a unpatched switch for that.

But that is when I stumbled upon the Team Xecuter website and found that they both sell a Xecuter Pro dongle that works up until FW 10.0.1 and that they will sell the Xecuter Core hardmod which you need to solder in.

Could someone explain to me if there are differences between these two other than the way it is installed?

My second question is about getting banned. If you would use the dongle one day. And the day after you pull it out and you play online. Can Nintendo see that you've used it before? Or are you at that point safe?
