Theories to Work On

ok, this post is a few days old --- lonely and hidden now from the top of the page- we can discuss some stuff as a sidebar of sorts...huge tinfoil from 1950's to present sci-fi herein

GRRM has written ASOIAF so the astute reader wants to think --as the story goes on, Rhaella birthed a dragon and was breastfeeding it - he alludes to it. Part of the process requires a blood sacrifice for the dragonChild to be hatched/born/nursed/fed w/human meat. This is why they have to be stopped- as Targs are human predators (mostly women and children, but also of men). (ALL MEN MUST DIE as ALL MEN MUST be SERVEd as food for dragons - this is an old Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man" .,. .. . LoL) You have to think about the Targaryens as their own species of being - not human, but a separate species-- just like the Starks were mostly their own species. (TiNfOiL WARNING) In a weird way you might think what the really twisted magic happening in Old Valyria was dragons conceived their own human prototype - dragons made their own mankind. Mankind was unnaturally created by and evolved from animals. this is kinda hinted at by the CotF scene - they created their own monster, and like all things it backfired. It is known that at one time the entire Planetos was inhabited by dragons-- so keep this in mind (this explains how they created man, in an escaltion of arms of sorts to fight Krakens, giant elephants and such).

BACK TO Humanoids: Through the years inbreeding between the human-type species had a genetic watering down effect - and this is why in-part it was/is important for the Targaryens to interbreed- to keep their bloodline pure and to keep power, and to elicit the rarely expressed traits of a dragon-human. Those families who had their original animalistic bloodlines watered down became weaker; especially if they were interbred with Targaryens (Targs are really just Velaryens from Valyria - but this is really mostly moot). For years people have been trying to prevent a continuation of this inbreeding from happening; all-the-whilst others have been trying to help the process along by eliminating Targ enemies. There's a balance of action/counteraction through time. Jamie and Cersai are obviously Targaryens -GRRM wants you to make this connection, both through Jamie's/Cersai's described appearances and behavior, and rumor-- a synthesis of the collective information (and alluded to in past historic character histories- you just have to apply that information to the present time).

Jamie and Cersai carrying on that Targaryen bloodline and practices -it would appear that they produced three children (this may not be true in-an-of-itself): the most characteristic Targ the Mad King Joffrey (the prototype for evil Targ child - himself a dragonMan animal), Mycella -typically in the Targ birthing rule of 3's - 2 sons, 1 daughter combination, she would have truly been a furtherly evolved improvement on Cersai (more or less); and Tommen (the more rational Targ prototype- if you go back and look at all the Tag Kings for prototype models. There are some in the world who see Tommen as a threat to the survivability of the true Velaryen bloodline as he is too sane, too rational, too peaceful. Some might question even his birthright as not being Targaryen enough -well, Baratheon-flavored Targaryen- but this aspect muddles things. Certainly the Iron Bank wants a violent King in Westeros as they are puppetmaester making coin on all wars (thus Littlefinger).

ASOIAF's complexly woven tale is so cool-- you don't know the truth yet -maybe you won't ever know the truth? What if you never know if R+L=J ? Surely an asute reader may figure that out, but is it even true? Does it matter? GRRM may want you to make your own conclusions.

BACK TO HUMAOIDS: So you see the competing powers in all this by who controls or tries to eliminate which child what team they are on. Maybe there are Blackfyres hiding in plain sight (Littlefinger? or Varys?). Those who worked secretly in the background to have Joffrey killed wanted an end to Targaryen evil dynasty. Those now working to either support or kill Tommen have Other perspectives: maybe peace, maybe an end to child/women/mankind exploitation? Even Myrcella- herself is truly the female prototype of the Targaryen nesting mother and had to be killed (by the Sand Snakes? Is this the truth?) The Sand Snakes are much more complex in the books than the caricature they are in the show. Had Mycella lived the kingdom of Dorne would have gained great power and would have established bloodline superiority over other Houses. What are the real purpose for the Dornish to permit the Orphans of Greenblood to exist on their own soil? Regardles, I suspect that in the Targaryen bloodline, the female chromosome is the dominant factor (and this is another matter all together.)

But the irony of bastard children is thick! It is such a finely woven tale you have to wonder and suspect if all of this is even true or a mummer's game? (are Blackfyres the outcast mummers in Braavos? - Has everything Arya done been a mummer's farce of shadows and tricks? Maybe she is dead already? Or poisoned? Or she committed suicide out of depresion and she herself is like a manipulated wight? Or perhaps someone else is using her face? LoL. Is she a deathPlayTool for continuation of Other bloodlines? Is the backdoor to the House of Black and White the Front door to the Iron Bank? Are the Others just another Targaryen bloodline fighting to help either themselves or their humanly heirs continue with power?)

So again, GRRM has established historical storylines and uses present-time parallel arcs to allude to things happening in other places with other characters --all things past, present, and future. What we read about in TWOW might better explain and put a re-defining twist on past events--and what has happened in the past in the books with the Targaryens was really happening with the Starks - and Ned goes from who appears to have been an honest man to really an evil villain-- flip-flopping reality in the readers minds. Those things will be discovered perhaps early-on in Season 8 I suspect (ADOS perhaps). Is Bran a playTool for whichever side, Green or Red, needed to develop the next higher weapon in an escalation of warring powers? (Divergent + Maze Runner)

There is great potential for some really twisted sci-fi events in the coming 2 seasons, and GRRM/HBO will touch upon every trope. Think Divergent, Maze Runner controllers, Memento false stories, Pulp Fiction disarrayed storyline ordering, etc. Every popular trope. I think GRRM has been milking his audience long enough keeping all these twists a secret because he knows when revealed there will be amzaed fans and pissed off fans. LoL. He's a maester troll, in many ways.

So back to "Ow! That hurts!" (if in fact it really did happen)

From Jamie II, A Feast for Crows

The sight had filled him with disquiet, reminding him of Aerys Targaryen and the way a burning would arouse him. A king has no secrets from his Kingsguard (actually there are plenty of secrets, but a father has few secrets from his son). Relations between Aerys and his queen had been strained during the last years of his reign. They slept apart and did their best to avoid each other during the waking hours. (as would be the case with a male/female predatory species, female dominant) But whenever Aerys gave a man to the flames (such as Rickerd Stark and Brandon Stark), Queen Rhaella would have a visitor in the night (implying King Aerys, but this may not be true). The day he burned his mace-and-dagger Hand (implies Lord Qarlton Chelsted, at 283AC- there is a lot going on with who Rhaegar really is, by blood, and why the tourney at Harrenahl was held, and what Rhaegar was trying to prove), *Jaime and Jon Darry had stood at guard outside her bedchamber whilst the king took his pleasure. "You're hurting me," they had heard Rhaella cry through the oaken door. "You're hurting me." In some queer way, that had been worse than Lord Chelsted's screaming. "We are sworn to protect her as well," Jaime had finally been driven to say. "We are," Darry allowed, "but not from him." -A Feast for Crows - Jaime II

Remember how Daenerys didn't know how to feed her baby dragons. Well, if I remembr correctly (and I could be wrong), at first she may have nursed them - but later they needed meat. Lord Chelsted was not so much a blood sacrifice as much as he was a snack meal for a growing dragon.

Jamie tells a story of Aerys raping Rhaella, but he did not necessarily know the ral truth, or if he did, he was hiding the truth. RELATED: Jamie and Cersai, as Targaryens, are naturally programmed to be attracted to each other, as Targaryens are beautiful people (just read all the descriptions of them in the books) and typically find other people as inferior in attractiveness. This is why Rhaegar was most likely of Stark bloodline - and he and Lyanna were attracted to each other - she most likely, to the ire of Aerys, birthed a combination dragon-wolf -- which is exactly what Jon Snow is - a wolf warg, with some pieces of older generation Targaryen blood; but the Stark bloodline is predominant.
