The judge determined this after medical professionals stated that Alfie is brain dead and cannot be brought back even in a pipe-dream. So let me repeat, the hospital has determined Alfie to be incurable and the judge has allowed them to stop using up resources to keep someone who is literally brain dead and will always be brain dead alive. The parents can still seek treatment at other facilities in the UK willing to help as long as they can pay any and all fees by themselves.
I agree that he should be let over to Italy. Why is he being stopped? I have yet to see the official decision made by the courts. Maybe there is some customs law that is in the way? I don't know.
