Thoughts on Save Me and Liquid State?

I dislike them both (they are the only songs from T2L I removed from my spotify playlist with unsustainable...).

I do occasionally listen to them when I listen to the whole album :

- Save me : is just boring it doesn't go anywhere and keeps going up to nowhere, which is really frustrating. Plus chris' singing doesn't have that theatrical, overdramatic sound that Matt uses and which can make even the most uninspired Muse songs good.

- Liquid State : it's true that this one is heavier and more interesting that Save Me, but again same problem. It just keeps repeating, the bass is cool but the guitar is meh...it's like Matt refused to contribute the slightest in Chris' songs...the singing is boring as well. They said Matt almost sang in this one before the decided it made more sense for chris to do it...I wonder what it would have been like

So overall the songs weren't that bad, they just seem uninspired, as if they could have been written by any 20s band, and Chris' vocals are forgettable. I kind of blame Matt a bit because I feel like the way the songs were treated was weird (the clear separation between his songs (Muse songs) and chris songs (not even in making of)). I think he completely refused to contribute to them...

Side node :

I fear that Matt's attitude as the center and main holder of the identity of Muse will make Dom and particularly Chris decide to split...I hope not, but it must not be easy everyday.
I remember during the resistance promotion, Chris said that they almost split and that him and Dom had to accept the idea that they were in Matt's band. Nowadays, he seems okay with him, each time the subject is brought up, he gladly says that Matt is the creative force behind Muse.

I still would be upset if someone stole my riff and made a song from it and put only his name as writer (I am talking about the globalist) ^^

I deviated from the subject a bit....sorry
