Tips for a faster audio post workflow, what are your thoughts?

Some of it's really standard, so to comment on some of the less ubiquitous points:

  • Custom Scripts - yes, definitely. The only thing I'd add is that macros can be very useful for speeding up highly repetitive tasks in-DAW as well, i.e. if you're processing recordings for use in a Kontakt instrument, there's probably a series of DAW shortcuts you could combine into an AHK script that would significantly speed up your work. Condensing 30 seconds of clicking around into a single button press is extremely useful.

  • Multiple Screens - mileage may vary/he sells it more than he ought to imo. The only work I think it's actually a real upgrade for is film post. Otherwise there are constraints to the way DAWs and VST's are displayed that mean it might not be a significant readability upgrade for your favourite level meter. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely nice, and definitely an upgrade - I just don't think it's prudent to pitch it as this thing that will significantly improve everyone's work in the same ways.

  • Sound Library Management - Yes. The only thing I'd mention is you don't need the $900 software he pitches you to do this - taking the time to properly organize your libraries plus 1-2 track templates for processing imported sounds will yield the same results.
