He explicitly states the books are canon. Not intended to fit together like puzzle pieces, yes, but still canon. If they weren't canon, then there is no William, as the killer is only refered to as Afton. There's no Henry, there's no Charlotte. Book exclusive names. Obviously those characters exist in the game's canon, but like Scott stated, they play different roles. Henry dies much later, Charlie possesses the Puppet.

Problem with Andrew being Golden Freddy (Which I am aware you are also arguing against) is that it would mean the tombstone puzzle would have been unsolvable for years. There's two hidden names. One belongs to Golden Freddy, one belongs to Cassidy. If Golden Freddy was Andrew, then that puzzle wouldn't have been solvable for two years after pizzeria simulator.

I've been saying this for nearly two years now. Golden Freddy is Michael Brooks. He's canon while playing a different role, just as Scott said. He was introduced in 2015, meaning the tombstone puzzle would have been solvable upon release. And Michael Brooks is also a boy, unlike Cassidy. Cassidy and Brooks also co-exist in the novels, so I don't see any reason they can't co-exist in the games
