Typed out a long letter to my wife but can’t bring myself to give it to her

In her defense, she found out about that because she caught me sort of roleplaying online in that capacity with guys. Although I squared it away in my head that it wasn't, obviously it's a form of cheating. Despite that I still thought the backlash was pretty harsh and lacked any understanding. Especially because she has a lot of 'woke' talking points, but the reality for me is somehow different.

The unfriendliness to non-traditional gender roles is also a bit of a local cultural thing. Our region is kind of known for people not really opening up talking about things like this. The spirit is mostly like 'just stfu and be normal' and I adhere to it. It has definitely gotten better over the last decade or so, but to me it feels like an extra layer of making it a difficult topic. Paradoxically, our country is known for being one of the best concerning gay rights and all that.
