I actually will wholeheartedly disagree with his push to buy more expensive coffee for the sake of chasing a perfect shot you’ll never have. This is part of the issue. It’s ok to just enjoy coffee and not treat it as a lifelong zen mission. If you can find equitable coffee roasters that are local businesses (instead of the online roaster giants like his own company Onyx) that can get you coffee cheaper then thats awesome. You don’t need to spend more on coffee just for the sake of fancy labels and lofty tasting notes. Spend for a good cup, spend for fair treatment of farmers.
