Unpopular opinion: I think after this year based off the looks, attendees and also lack thereof attendees... The met gala is just not what it used to anymore and it's on its last leg.

Agree. My comment will probably get deleted but I’m speaking here as a POC myself. I got a feeling that the guest list was inappropriately represented in order to include more people of color. Not saying it’s the incorrect thing to do but it doesn’t truly represent the fashion/celeb industry. I’m 100% for reforms in the US but these need to be done at a community and overall public life improvement level instead of just inviting more POC to put them on TV to show diversity at the met gala. Some sports celebs even said when they were being interviewed that they got their invite like a week ago and didn’t even have time to understand the theme or even get fitted. This just shows the lack of planning and more of fitting into a political trend on the organizers part.
