Just upgraded to Gold. Now, how to get best use of Hilton? Any advices?

And what makes you think you even have a Diamond F&B benefit in the first place?

The F&B credit does not automatically apply to people who are Diamond members. Your available Diamond benefits are different for each brand in the Hilton portfolio. And in most cases, they are going to be an either/or option, which you must identify prior to your arrival by designating them on your profile.

At full service brands, you will usually have an option of either bonus points, or an F&B credit. At some, Diamond members are entitled to both. I don't recall all of the specific stipulations for each brand.

The vast majority of the time, when I receive complaints from a Diamond Member that they didn't receive their benefits, it's because they've elected for bonus points on their profile, but they still expect to get the F&B credit on top of it. Sometimes they say "Well I told them at check in I want the breakfast". But that's now how it works. The exact specifications are that we are supposed to provide what you've already put on your profile, which the system will tell us when we pull up your reservation. Technically speaking, you're not guaranteed your selection unless you've made your selection at least 24 hours prior to arrival. But that's just because changing your selection might not transfer over anyway, so that's mainly a CYA technicality on Hilton's part.

It's all been communicated to you, already. Go read the terms and conditions. Bet you never bothered to do that.

I've always been one who emphasizes the need to educate guests on policies and procedures. When I entered the Hilton world I found it unacceptable for my staff to not even try to explain to guests how certain things work. Over time I realized why they don't bother. Because fuck stains like you can't be communicated with. You're never going to listen. You'll never get it. You just stick your fingers in your ears and stomp your feet like a god damned three year old child. Hilton has the worst loyalty members in the industry.
