I think something that harmed it was that it wasn’t in New York tbh, NYC played such an important role in the first 2 that I can’t figure out why they moved from the city, I think also, and this is the problem with a lot of these new reboots, making the characters children harms it, I understand why they didn’t want to make it with the old guys but idk why they chose to go so far towards the children, like they can’t really do anything, these kids can’t travel to stuff by themselves, they can’t drive, they can’t buy anything like the firehouse, it’s just sucky imo when they make reboot characters children. Also worth pointing out that this movie wasn’t written by Dan/Harold so that definitely affected it. Good movie for sure but nothing like the first
