What are the differences between Days Gone and the last of us?

That’s fair. The similarities, both are third person survival horror games with various guns and melee weapons as well as abilities to create traps. You’ll fight infected and humans alike and both stories focus on a guy who’s just struggling to survive this hellish world.

The differences. When I played the last of us, it felt pretty linear. Gorgeous game which I think is a given from NaughtyDog, but each level was like a small neighborhood you could navigate to find supplies/ammo.

Days Gone is open world. Explore Oregon via upgradeable motorcycle, find informative plaques around the map and learn about Oregon’s history. You’ll earn/buy new guns and fight off hordes of infected. Driving around and run out of gas? Time to either walk your motorcycle or leave it and go on the hunt for a gas tank.

I loved The Last Of Us when I played it but Days Gone feels like it offers more in terms of gameplay. Also, I think a play-through of Tlou took me around 12 hours. I’m still on my first play-through of Days Gone and sitting at 73 hours.
