What was the exact moment that you understand that Pink Floyd is your favorite band?

Unfortunately for me the first time I listened to them I thought "meh kinda overrated" when I was in high school but my music taste back then was awful. I think some of it has to do with the fact that a lot of the lyrics really speak to me me now when back then they did not.

Many years later when I started developing a taste for different kind of music I took some acid and listened to Pink Floyd again. I never really listened to music on acid much so I had no idea how powerful it could be. I remember knowing nothing about them really so I just YouTubed Pink Floyd and chose the first song. That song of course ended up being Comfortably Numb. I turned off all the lights in my room and put on my noise canceling headphones and was absolutely blown away. I had never experienced anything like that with music ever, it felt like I was floating in space having a spiritual journey. Of course some of that was the acid but listening to that song changed everything for me.

I then proceeded to listen to every album (sober) and fell in love with them completely. I now consider them the best band of all time and not a day guys by that I don't listen to Pink Floyd. Listening to PF really inspired my love for 60's and 70's music to be honest. Now I listen to bands like Skynyrd, King Crimson, YES, The Zombies, Rush, Hendrix, and now trying to get in to newer stuff like Radiohead. I was lucky enough to see Brit Floyd in concert this year which was so amazing and also will get to see Roger live for the first time.

Now I am 100% in agreement with the quote that goes "You don't need drugs to enjoy Pink Floyd but you need Pink Floyd to enjoy the drugs"
