Sorry non American here.

I thought the second amendment is about making sure Americans never have to fear oppression from an unjust government or a government that goes corrupt by making sure they have the right to fight against such tyranny and give any would be dictators care to treat the American people with respect?

What I hear though is that this does not mean high powered guns or semi automatics. Or it meant they have a right to create a militia.

Again. I was under the impression that of the government is in control of forces that over time have more advanced weaponry the right to bear arms would have to keep up as how the heck could you fight a modern dictator armed with flintlock rifles?

I also thought militia would mean armed forces in response to an unjust government which then can not mean it's the military as by default they would be in control of the unjust government. So militia seems more sensible to mean a collection of armed citizens that work together for the common goal to make America great again.

Anyhow, I bring this up as every piece of media I see from America now seems to say that I'm wrong. That they meant Americans only have a right to a military and now it seems that the right to bear arms seems to be morphing into the "the fore fathers means a right to have a military to protect you and be controlled by people who know what's best for you"

I have to be frank here. I used to think Americans were nuts with their gun culture. Forgive me a little. My media is controlled I only get to see the worst. With little history or context of what made America what it is, it's all too easy just to not think and laugh as Conan, Seth Mayers, and the media feed me exactly what they want me to see and tell me exactly what to feel and what to think.

Luckily I left Europe and now appreciate American culture more. Now seeing what Europe had become, the increasing suffocating destruction caused by America and Europe coming together to seemingly create a controlled world. I really think the founders of America made the second ammendment exactly for times like this, and that fear of the people is what I see in the leaders of Europe of America now.

Good luck guys I can't vote for trump, but I can support him and you all. I just hope the republicans stop being idiots with their third party never trump campaign. as whatever you think of trump any vote that isn't for him is as good as a vote for Hilary and a non vote or vote for any other candidate no matter on what principle that is a vote to ripping up your second amendment and flushing it down a gender neutral toilet.

Make America great again and more than that, make western civilisation and all its created a chance to be great again and not apologise for pushing the world into the modern era. I really don't want to be riding a goat to work in 50 years time.
