What sort of climate do you live in?

But you have a great source of fresh water if you're willing to have just a little snowfall. Peaches and many plants need specific frost periods to produce fruit or vegetables but not cold enough to kill it entirely. Subtropical for me, I've lived continental and that's already too much, but cold is important, which is why Subtropical and Continental regions are amongst the most heavily populated climates. Of course you can grow foods in the tropics, but alot of staples do best with some cold. I also like 4 seasons because you feel the passage of time, and you appreciate summer or fall (my favorite seasons) when you know it's for a literal limited time.
