What's Your Favorite Concept?

The biggest thing that drives me away from hanging out with kpop communities is how they treat idols who are a bit sexual. Most of them (I hope) know its a concept, but it's like they can't divorce what they see from the person the idol really is. Which, we do this in America too, so there is a shitty precedent for it.

It's like, does anyone really believe all nine (yes, 9, because Jessica is an angel) girls of SNSD are really sitting around their apartment thinking of ways they can appeal to oppa more? If HyunA or 4minute in general were as fierce and sexy as their concepts then they'd either be avoided like the plague for being too aggressive or have a cascade of drooling fanboys (and some girls for those inclined) following them and HyunA would probably hold the world record of abortions by a kpop idol.

Watching just one interview with any idol where they can be more honest (usually from non-SM acts) should always be where people go to see what these people are really like. 4minute is probably a group of the most down-to-earth women I've seen; they don't let the fame get to their head even though I'm fairly certain that 4nias are some of the most rabid and defensive fans there are, way more than sones or blackjacks could ever hope to be (no hate, just making a comparison), and they could easily be divas in their own right. HyunA could be queen of the castle if she wanted since she's the most popular one, but instead it seems like to me during their performances she's much happier when someone else is leading.

Sexy!HyunA works because she's naturally attractive. Real!Hyuna seems to embrace her concept and recently it looks like she's having more pull in her stuff (as well as 4minute in general, which is why I think they must be close to paying off their Cube debt; it's my understanding that the girls had a lot of say for the Crazy MV), which is awesome.
