IMHO, it will depend on what has you hooked.
The show is very good and consistently developing the main characters throughout the entire life of the show but also keeps the plot filled with action/drama and story telling that doesn’t drag out......until....
Season 6. Honestly I skip a huge portion of season 6 because it’s stalled and Dexter acts “not like Dexter”. I can watch the last 1 or 2 episodes of the season and not miss anything important. You do have to eat h the last episode though.
Season 7 and 8 pick back up.
Season 8 rivals as the worst season for a lot of people but you really make your own decision.
My personally rating : season 4 & 2 are probably the best seasons. Then I’d go with 7 as a second kick start to recover from season 6. 1,3, & 5 fill the gaps.
Season 6 by far was rock bottom of the show.
Season 8.... If the ending of The Sopranos made you hate the entire season, prepare yourself mentally.
