How I thought this season would pan out/end. Interested if others think this would have been better?

The way this season story played out didn't feel the same as the original run. There were plot holes, set ups with no pay offs, story threads that were created that went nowhere or were abandoned completely.

There was not anywhere near this many inconsistencies in the original series.

Your story sounds like Season 9 of Dexter. Which would be a nice safe play that concludes everything in a fair way for everyone.

Their story was season 1 of New Blood. Which was kinda fucked.

I'm pretty sure had they done basically what you've submitted here they would have safely cruised into a season 2 with Harrison as the lead and Michael Hall as his Passenger.
