IMHO, unfortunately, all webdev social media is an incubator of misinformation and contemporary techno-folklore. Since there's no decent way to vet out users, so you get noobs masquerading as reputable experts.

People get savvy at regurgitating popular wisdom, which starts too feed back on itself, and distort the truth. When someone makes a valid point that goes against the groupthink, they get flamed into leaving, everyone rejoices, and the self-perpetuating hoax deepens.

The only place I have found fellowship among good developers is at the workplace. Maybe you could find a closed community that does review membership, but that sounds gatekeepy, and brings us right back to the problem.
