I think the first song I heard was Float On, never dived in deeper until one very memorable fall night. It was 2009 I was 15. My brother was 4 years older and I'd always tail and try to hang with him and his friends. One night my brother and his best friend came home rolling their balls off. They were so nice to me and actually wanted me to come hang, mostly just smoke with them. Times were dark, gma just died, house was in foreclosure. Anyways my brother and his friend had "hit a lick" a few days prior and were still enjoying the spoils. They had xbox's, a tv, lol a bunch of clothes. Well one of the goodies was a poor fellas Ipod. It was late in the night and I suppose they were coming down from their roll, they started getting nostalgic and we had deep convos. From the Ipod emitted one of the most beautiful guitar rifts I'd ever heard. These guys were hard asses but even they were silent during this phase of the song. I asked the name, my brothers friend responded, "That's that shit son." The song was Little Motel and later that next morning the cops served our house with a warrant for my brother. My brothers friend slipped out the back only to later be arrested. Before he left he gave me that poor fellas Ipod... needless to say but Little Motel reminds me of the vibe of that night and the infamous glory of my brother and his friend.
