I work in a federal prison.

Hi, you probably aren't still answering questions, but someone I know was convicted for a financial crime/con. We thought he was headed to a camp since it was a white collar crime, (like Madoff, but smaller scale), but since he is not a US citizen (born and raised in a European country, but lived in US 50+ years and married and had kids here) he was put in a low security. His family has been in a bit of denial about the whole thing and now are worried he will be deported on release even though they tried to have stipulations in his sentence about considering his family life and age (over 80 yo). I guess they were caught off guard by the move to low security based on his immigrant status. Is he SOL? Or is there any chance he will be released here?
