WTF IS W ASIAN PARENTS AND THEIR OBSESSION WITH REPUTATION AND NOT WANTING THEIR CHILDREN TO BE INDEPENDENT

First generation Asian parents live in a fantasy world in which they want to create what they themselves never achieved. They attempt to do it through their children to cure their own insecurities of not having the highest social class. They are psychologically ill and use your grades and educational achievements to fix their insecurities. They get addicted to it. That's why nothing is good enough for them.

I have decades of working experience and I can tell you that you should only get a Master degree if your work requires it (doctor, researcher at uni, attorney) or if you're truly interested in the field. If you work in a higher profession that doesn't require a Master, you will start working for 100 bucks more compared to a Bachelor but after a couple of years of working, nobody cares if you had a Master or Bachelor (at least in my country). Even lowly educated, drop-outs or uneducated people with enough working experience get the same chances and salary as a MSc/PhD here. It's usually about the people who set up cliques that are getting the most opportunities, not the people with the best education. Also, a lot of people try to overrule your scientific Bachelor by saying they have academic level, even though they have a Master degree in a irrelevant study.

But it may be different in Canada. I'm from Europe.
