If it’s because you’re embarrassed of living with parents, I think it’s normal for asian young adults to live with their parents, maybe even their whole life. Because we contribute our financial income to the household, and our parents want us to take care of them when they retire. Friends should understand everyone’s lifestyle is different.

Personally, I prefer keeping my friends and social life separate from my parents. My parent also hate it if I tell ‘outsiders’ where I live. I don’t bring friends home also because my mom likes to badmouth them to me in private or complain about how I spend more time with friends than family. I think it’s normal to keep your personal life and your parents separate, especially if you don’t have a close relationship with your parents. You can be filial to your parents and not share too much of your private life with them too, it’s perfectly fine.
