Zeg nu nog eens dat de kwaliteit van ons onderwijs erbarmelijk is

My experience over 6 years at ucll. (No I didn't do 6 years over 1 bachelor)

  • Teachers generally know their field pretty well.
  • subjects are sometimes a bit outdated but still very relevant.
  • course material is fantastic.

  • While about 50% of the teachers is passionate many do not have the didactic skills we students prefer them to have. It's not a requirement these days teachers can explain. They just have to copy PowerPoints.

  • workload. Teachers have the most freedom I've seen in how they organize their courses. Meaning sometimes it just terrible and outright wrong from the school not to jump in. (Reason real smart people generally don't become teachers unless they have that passion thus shortage. And even passionate people might prefer a higher wage.)

  • I've had 3 studypoints take up 100's of hours thus having to neglect other equal courses.

  • I have about 24 hours in a day of which 14+- functional, I work to finance my studies. You should not expect me to sit in class 25-30 h a week and have time for 30-40+ hours of work weekly.

  • I've seen exams change from being written on campus to at home. Aka here cheat. Very unprofessional and I think even fraudulent. Teachers stop being gatekeepers. Yes students need to work and not all do that but holy fuck stop letting your students drown. It's demotivating and I do not have the time to learn thoroughly so wtf am I even doing.
