You don’t have to smoke while you read it but it says you should do a ritual at the end where you smoke one final cigarette. The point is to really solidify in your mind that there’s zero benefit of smoking. The only pleasure smoking gives is the pleasure you feel from relieving the withdrawal. So while you smoke it you’d realize it after the second or third hit that it really isn’t doing anything for you and that’s supposed to get rid of most of the mental aspect of wanting to smoke.

I’d think it help you though if you still miss smoking or feel like you’re sacrificing something from not smoking, because the main point of the book is to break down why you smoke and make it no longer appealing for you so quitting is easy
