[7th victim succumbs to dust explosion](http://focustaiwan.tw/news/asoc/201507170016.aspx)

This is pretty much the one thing I really, truly hate and can't at all understand about Taiwan. To be fair, I haven't been to China and barely traveled elsewhere in Asia much so I don't know if it's just a regional/cultural thing.

Coming from Hawaii where all beaches are completely public access and all they need to do is put up a swim at your own risk sign, those stupid fucking roped off beaches Taiwan has make me so pissed off it puts me near "spontaneous killing spree" levels of rage. I don't even go anymore because last time I was at the beach I assumed it was optional for kids etc, and suddenly life guards are blowing whistles and yelling all kinds of bullshit. It took the utmost self control to not lash out because I understand they're just following orders.

What pisses me off is even my otherwise rational girlfriend defends it claiming some people here just don't know how to swim and doesn't seem to comprehend when I argue that a warning sign to the extent of "enter at your own risk" etc isn't a perfectly reasonable thing, or, I don't know, NOT GOING IN WATER WHEN YOU CAN'T SWIM?

Jesus fucking Christ. The litigious nature of some of the complete scum of the human race types here (note: scum by behavior/mentality, not nationality/ethnicity)

On topic, it made me pissed to know that the water park owner was also shut down and (likely coerced into) paying out their money (unless of course it was a genuine donation, which is good thing then) when in reality it should be 100% on the event group.

Of course it is a terrible tragedy and I don't mean to undermine any of this in the slightest, but I wish people wouldn't get so eye for an eye and scummy/petty in general.
