Run:

check-out any time you like, But you can never leave! 5/29/15 7:30 PST

Shiv' sits in his cramped apartment. Shards of glass from the whisky bottle stuck in the wall from where it was flung for the crime of being empty. He clutches his knees to his chest as he stares at the door, bags under his eyes from three nights straight without more than 20 minutes of sleep. He mutters to himself on and off. “It's coming, it's gonna happen, and when it does we'd better hope none of us talked or they'll line us up against the wall and pump Ex-Ex into our brain cases. Then again, maybe that's what we should hope for, beats the alternative. Fragging Umbrella, having us do their nasty shit. Yeah we knew it was wetwork but fuck... Asshole gets us to meet him at their secret facility, right under that theme bar, 'The Medbay', is there a bar left in this city which isn't themed? I reckon even a regular drink 'til you can't stand hole in the wall would be a 'drink 'til you can't stand hole in the wall themed experience' round here. So we go past all the ominous shit, way into some sub-sub-sub-sub-sub basement of this disguised supervillain's lair. Prick doesn't even play at being a non-evil shithead. They've been doing work involving ghouls, the feral kind, and one of their scientists has done a runner with the research. Terminate, recover data if possible, straight forward. Now at this point I think fine. Whether or not I like the look of the J, the money's the going rate and if you're hired to do a job then skipping out with the results is a shitty way to do business. So we agree and go start trail sniffing, ask around, do the basic legwork to decide how to proceed. The response isn't thrilling though, scared contacts telling me to watch my back because of the bad news that is Umbrella. So we make our minds up to deal with this ASAP and then wash our hands. We roll up to the first possible location out in the Barrens. We come in heavy, the Umbrella on staff goons are way heavier. Roadmasters full of them, torching the place to the ground, heavy armour and ARs everywhere so we push off and leave them to it.

Next location is an 'abandoned' warehouse in a run down industrial area. Abandoned these days apparently includes grenades on motion sensors. Once we're in

Notes:

8/10 - I had a good time on this run, even though it went what I consider way too PM for my tastes on what should have been a BT run this was due to player actions rather than the GM. Rogue put together a fun and challenging scenario. My only constructive criticism (I don't do the non-constructive kind) to offer would be keeping track of times, distances etc when things are happening in multiple locations and either saying mea culpa or drawing a line under things by retconning via the GM rewrite hammer. One situation got away from us all and while I'm very laid back about these things because GMs are only human (I'm a perpetual GM myself with my f2f group), I could sense other players getting annoyed when they felt like things were being twisted to deny them the chance to act, which I know was not the case.

Quotes of the session: Again not direct quotes, but the recounting of flashbacks relating to giant lizard cloaca and ensuing PTSD had us in stitches.

Also, having a chameleon stealth specialist who somehow managed to get spotted ahead of the clunky gun bunnies was priceless.

“You're turning the wireless on on your HE grenade?! Better hope their decker doesn't notice!” 0.5 seconds later, bodies of said decker and two of his buddies sail out of the window propelled by the aforementioned grenade.
