Run: Breaking Dawn

The day started with a call from my fixer about some Johnson who wanted something to do with an ancient artifact. The details were few, but so were the nuyen on my sticks, so I told her to set up the meet. I was told to show up at SEATAC on a very short notice and barely made it.

Arriving at the airport I saw a few other runners, some of whom I'd heard about. A flightattendant showed us the way and after some shrugging we entered the private jet at the location. On board we were greeted by a nice looking female dwarf, whose buisness attire and professional demeanor in the face of the assembled runners screamed "CORP", even louder than the private jet. After receiving some more information about the run and accepting the parameters we were told the rest of the information about the run.

In ancient days, before the awakening, a space probe was sent out to take pictures of, and scan, some planetoid or something called Ceres. I had never heard anything about either, but I figured the best action was to nod my head, stay silent and follow the lead of the other guys (and gal). We were tasked with gaining entry into an old science museum in FCS and attach a device to the old relic. Now I'm no slouch when it comes to hardware, but even I struggled with trying to comprehend how to use the old connection we were given. One thing became aparent: We had a mage, but no Matrix-jockey along for the ride. This made me slightly apprehensive as this is a skillset I am lacking, and it's always nice having someone along who can help out with that.

The Johnson got off and the plane was on it's way. We studied the plans we were given and devised a plan for how to gain access: Get in during opening hours, stay concealed with help from the mage, get the data and extricate through a door on the roof. Null sweat, right?`Plans have a tendency to work until you need them though.

Arriving at the location we decided to do some scouting around the target, just to be sure. Surprisingly we discovered several dodgy groups doing the same, so we decided to scout out the potential opposition. The first group seemed to be around on an unrelated run, but when we got to the second group things started to happen fast. Tapper (that's right, the 16 year old gunmage) decided to pretend to be my younger sister and changed her appearance somehow. These bozos weren't fooled though and while we were listening in we were spotted and one of the fraggers pulled a gun on us. Not wanting to be the one to set things off I tried to pull Tapper with me and run away, but she had other plans. Pulling out a silenced hold out she disarmed the goon with a shot, and after some shouting and talking we managed to convince the other team that we were better off working together. Good thing too, as they had a wiz drone jockey riding a tank who made the rest of the run easy as pie. We got the data, they picked up some snake, we exchanged information and headed off for our payday.

PS: Turned out the Johnson had foreseen our lack of a decker and had included a lockbox with a programmed anti-security protocol, but forgot to tell us about it. Would have been nice to know, but it all turned out nicely anyway.

Run time: 4 hours or so?

Mission rewards: 6k nuyen, 4 karma and a contact from the other runner team.

Turned out the GM had planned for this to become a combat scenario, but our choices and dicerolling turned this into a pretty funny social setting with some trenchcoat instead. Good fun with some memorable moments :)
