Adobe Reader DC installation complete… but failed

I've had the exact same issue, although my coworkers elsewhere in my company claim they do not. I found that updating Windows 10 to the most current version of 21H2 and then doing Windows updates will let it install. I've had it fail 2 or 3 times in a row before trying it after a total update and reboot allowed it to work. What a crappy installation method.

A few times I redownloaded the stub installer fresh and it seems to install ok. The installer a real asshole design, not only is the installation dialog system modal and will not minimize or allow anything over it but it deletes the executable stub program after the installation, whether it's successful or failed. And each time it has to redownload the installation files again. I can't find where it puts them either so I can start with the entire install file.

This is driving me nuts as I have to install this thing sometimes a dozen times a week and I have to put up with the download of the actual installation files from the stub executable each time.

I've been searching for a offline installation file of the the 64 bit version of the Reader app and can't find it, when I go to the Adobe site and do the full download it's always the 32 bit version and my company wants the 64 bit version.
