Work has been nice and chill. I adjunct at a community college and summer classes are honestly pretty great, almost everyone there is just kind of showing up for an easy grade in the class, but still understands that since the schedule is so tight they have to actually do work. It's so much more straightforward than regular semesters in a lot of ways and just condenses a lot of needless stuff out.

I got a nice art history book on JMW Turner that I've been reading/flipping through, such beautiful work. I've also been reading the Malazan series, on the second book. They're supposed to be "serious" and "good" fantasy books about the nature of empire, but I oscillate wildly between finding it very interesting and sort of subtle in cool ways, to finding it to be extremely hamfisted and doing the annoying fantasy book thing of just saying a bunch of made up names/words. Although it's more forgivable since there is clearly an internal logic to all of it.
