Aftermath of the fire in McKinney

That's why you read your contracts, I just had a new home built in Dallas with a reputable builder. I asked them about those practices they even said it was illegal to do the upcharge once a contract is signed and a deposit is paid for. If you're with a builder and you don't read the fine print youre a fool, especially when there is a deposit involved. Down voting me because of what was told to me by professional builders and my personal experience is dumb. I've been working with several builders for several years and have a couple of homes built for me and have never run into this once. The companies that do this are probably undergoing lawsuits or put out of business. Don't think they can get away with these kinds of actions not in Texas at least.
