Aftermath of Las Vegas shooting

Mass shooters like this tend to stockpile weapons. They almost never use as many as they have. Limiting their access to legal guns may make them feel like they aren't prepared and keeping better tabs on how many people buy and what kind may help foil their plots, like we do with sudafed and explosive fertilizer. Of course, that would require finding ways to prevent people from getting them illegally as well.

But in this case, the best sabotage would probably have been to make it much more difficult to convert a semi automatic to an automatic. Maybe manufacturers can find a way to disable the gun completely if they're tampered with, but I doubt it.

We need to sabotage these killers' efforts and take away their motives. As of late, it seems to be our political climate and mental health. So we need to tackle those issues and decide as a society how we should handle those things. Any background check wouldn't have prevented this, so what can we do that would?

Either way, these repetitive mass shootings are an issue that needs to be tackled on many fronts. I'm afraid to go to concerts, I'm afraid to send my kid to school, I'm afraid of my husband going to work, and I'm afraid for my best friend, who works in a ticket office at a concert venue. And that's having multiple guns ourselves, for those who would say "get one and learn to use it." It's not enough.

We aren't going to find a single cause, but we can certainly start looking for ways to prevent it.

It's too bad that absolutely nothing will change. This will happen again, and probably even bigger next time.
