Am I Crazy for Enjoying DS2 SOFTS more than any other Souls game?

A lot of people here telling you you aren't, you're right, you're entitled to your opinion etc. And they're right, you are. But if you honestly want to understand why many, especially those who started with DaS, were dissapointed with the game, I'll tell you, as I fit into that category. Keep in mind, I played the game up until just before the demon of song, so I think I have a pretty good idea of what the game has to offer.

For one, the starting classes were dissapointing. I know they dont matter to a lot of people, but to me choosing where to start the game stat wise is one of the most fun aspects, and the utter uselessness of bandit and merchant(?) were a real turn off to the game right away. Deprived starting with no club and wooden shield, and in fact only one class starting with a shield I feel were stupid ideas.

The art style of the game was also a dissapointment. This is more of a personal taste thing but the weapon, armor, and character designs all seemed more like something out of an anime than the gothic medieval doomfest I wanted. Particularly the enemy designs consisted mostly of various mooks in armor, which is a common complaint. None of the bosses gave me the same feeling of awe, sadness, and fear that came from the likes of O & S, Gwyn and The Moonlit Butterfly. Level designs also suffered in the art department, with laughably poor texture qualities and boring, uninsipred areas that were never a joy to slog through (excluding Medula itself). Level design in general took a huge hit. The game never gave you much of a re-visit areas, and the ability to warp to every bonfire was an insulting way to fix the lack of shortcuts, exploration and interconnectivity. At one point I remember climbing up a windmill and somehow appearing in a castle sunken in lava?

Gameplay wise, theres not much I can say that hasnt already been said. My personal biggest gripe is the articficial inflation of difficulty through sheer number of enemies. This game mustve had the most "multiple enemy" bosses out of any souls game. Having a stat determine your rolling ability was a terrible idea. Boring, easy bosses. I could go on.
