Am I the only one suicidal about our future?

Uvic has automatic fellowships that are tens of thousands for PhDs which cover your tuition basically entirely. If you are even mildly competent in grad school you will get enough funding beyond the automatic fellowships to pay for tuition multiple times over.

Maybe this is department specific but your supervisor should also have funding for your stipend.

Let's say you got the PhD fellowship 24k Let's say you got any tri agency funding 20k+ per year for 3 years There was the automatic funding from joining grad school during covid in bc 15k Any money you get from your supervisor as a stipend 20k+ per year

None of this applies for non research grad school so I should have been more clear about that.
