Amazing bodycam footage. First responders discover and save the life of 18 month old found in car after a wreck. NSFW

If you read down the comment chain I mentioned that these calls are true nightmares, that I hope for no human being to ever experience. Nothings hits you harder than a peds call, and that is even more true for a parent. Also i would like to clarify that this comment was in no way meant to be condescending or dismissive, I am by no means trying to be an armchair medic, but what I'm doing is advocating for patients, when the top comment states that these paramedics had "amazing skills" I have a problem with that because it contributes to the lack of understanding that EMS is faced with today. As I said in my other comment, I would never expect a medic (whether experienced or not) to run these types of calls 100% perfectly. If she was a volunteer than I sympathise and the criticism is unwarranted, with that being said though theres no such thing as volunteer EMS where I'm from, even in the most rural areas medics still have two years of training, ALS abilities and good salaries. However with all that being said I still believe that the level of care provided is unacceptable, whether that means that the county this happened in replaces volunteer EMS with actual EMS or just holds regular EMS to a higher standard it is just unacceptable. Again the reason I felt the need to make my comment is because many people think paramedics are simply ambulance drivers that do first aid, when in reality paramedics bring an ER to your house performing many advanced medical procedures and administering many different medications. When society thinks that this is excellent EMS care there is a problem with how much society understands EMS, which leads to problems with the amount of paramedics available and in the USA, the amount they are paid.

Also from my perspective I would still want to do some work in the back since everything the hospital is going to do can be done by me and my partner if they are an ACP, even with a short transport the basics should never be neglected like they were.
