Any interest in a backpacking/camping meetup for stoners this weekend?

See mate, and I hate to offend you. But. More important than not having the gun is not having the "gun owner" bring a culture of fear. The numbers clearly paint an accurate measure of risk. True experience on the trail will also paint an accurate measure. As an example.

I just got back from a 2.5 mile hike and overnight to a waterfall. Almost all day hikers. I saw probably about 200 or more people while I was hanging out. Mainly families and older retired women. There was one gun on open carry, by a retired older gentlemen in very good physical shape. If the little old ladies and little children do not need armed escorts neither do we.

If you are afraid of something that has a .06% chance of happening according to accepted data compiled in national parks I can not risk having you in my group. Fear is contagious and if something actually does happen I am more concerned with what the gun owner is planning.

This is based on personal experience with guns, with being shot at more than once, with being chased by black bears, and with generally being a wild and crazy dude for over 20 years. I am far more interested in avoiding gun owners and apologize if that offends you. Perhaps more experience outdoors will show you how little you need to fear.
