Apparently our school is of a lesser caliber than U of C?

No school in Alberta is top-tier, U of T, Queens, Mcgill, Western, and UBC are top schools in Canada. You are right MRU not a great school business-wise, we do not have the alumni connections that those schools have as we are a young school, and our networking events are not even close to those schools (for example we don't have any big banks come to any of our events). Not to mention those schools you are paying from a brand name, and U of C does have a better reputation due to having a large number of students graduating each year, and they have been well established in Calgary.

But that doesn't mean MRU is a bad school by any means or lesser academically. All universities in Alberta have similar classes, program requirements, and classes transfer from school to school. It will just take more effort at MRU to network and graduate with the highest GPA possible to land a job after graduation.
