How do I approach women in public?

Nobody said anything about harassing others, I said to read the room.

For example, you're in line for a concert. You see a cute individual and want to shoot your shot. To break the ice you turn them and mention you've been waiting to see XYZ perform for forever. The person you're talking to doesn't seem receptive and you then decide to leave the conversation. That's reading the room, not harassment.

Harassment is trying to force yourself onto someone after they've clearly turned you down. Nobody likes being harassed and that's not what I'm suggesting people do.

Also, I'm sure many people have met their life partners by chance in public. You don't have to chastise your potential dating opportunities just because you're in a certain location.
